Speaking of snowing, the weather on Neptune is even more bizarre - TopicsExpress

Speaking of snowing, the weather on Neptune is even more bizarre (and profitable!). It rains Diamonds on Neptune and Uranus! The pressure differential from the upper atmosphere of the gas giant is so thin that vaporous methane rains down towards the center of the planet. As the pressure builds, the methane collapses in on itself, solidifying much like Carbon does to form Diamonds. As the solidified methane gets closer to the center, it becomes so highly compressed that it forms a Diamond. That diamond would be so pure, clear and clean that it would almost be difficult to see, more so than anything we can produce on Earth.
