Spectators at the dog show would just let their dogs go up to Flitzer after she tried to ignore them, I gave several leave its when she couldnt anymore and even after she clearly showed her displeasure. Finally, when they got too close, she would go after them terrier style. I couldnt blame her, she was being good until someone let their dog invade her space. Finally, a woman came up to me and said that she had read about a yellow ribbon that you can put on the leashes of dogs like mine so people would know to stay away. Totally made me angry. Dogs like mine? You mean the dog that has drive yet will look at me and ignore other dogs until they are so close and so obnoxious that she is forced to react? I told her that people should already know better than to let their dog approach another dog without permission but she still thought it would be easier with the ribbon. I disagreed and said if they didnt get it, a ribbon wasnt going to help. Besides, I told her, I love watching people learn to keep their dog away from my dog the hard way. She was totally offended and walked away in a huff.
