Spirit Message for the Week, 27 Oct to 2 Nov 2014: “Do something new – what you really want to do. Whatever tries to stop you – shake it off!” * * * * * * * * * Recently, many people have shared with me their hopes and fears of starting something new. Careers. Relationships. Beliefs. Interests… the list goes on. “I’ve worn red lipstick for years. What will they think if I try coral?” “He asked me out! I’m so nervous. Should I say yes?” “My wife laughed. But I’d already paid for the singing lessons.” Times like these, my friends and clients sometimes ask: Kelly, can you do a quick Tarot reading? Or does anyone in Spirit want to advise me, can you bring them through? I smile, and shake my head. No. Because your heart already knows the answer. You want to be free. Happy. Yourself, without regrets. And nothing in this universe – no Spirit, no Tarot card, no person, external force or inner weakness – has the right to take away your power. Your power to be you. I tried something new very recently: I listened to a Taylor Swift song. (Yes, it’s a big deal to me. ☺) As I watched her latest music video on Youtube, I remembered all the times Spirit came through during my sessions with friends and clients. I could not remember a single time when Spirit actually said NO! to trying something new. Sometimes Spirit would advise caution (say, if it’s a high-risk business investment), or a different approach (perhaps later, or with another business partner). But the bottom line would be: Go for it! In the music video for ‘Shake It Off’, Taylor Swift plays a goofy dancer who never quite gets it right, but she’s joyously giving it her all and loving it. In the end, isn’t that what really matters? In the Tarot, Taylor’s go-getter attitude corresponds to the first card in the Major Arcana. The card that begins the journey through Tarot. Card 0 – The Fool. Let’s get this clear. The Fool is not stupid, only new to his journey. With his small bundle of possessions and his faithful little white dog, the Fool embarks on an adventure to places he’s never been. The risks are tremendous, but his heart is calling him to go. To be greater than he thought he could be. Unless we become like the Fool, our new and wonderful journeys cannot begin. It requires a Fool to take the first step. And if we don’t take that first step, then how do we begin to live? ________________________________________________ Do you seek clarity on a new development in your life?
