Sports Update: Riverside Christian Academy (Fayetteville, TN) defeated Franklin Christian Academy 56-52 for the Middle TN Athletic Conference Division 2 Championship tonight at Currey Ingram Academy field in Nashville! This was not an easy game as the lead swapped back and forth several times... The first half was actually a defensive slug-fest -- uncharacteristic for 8-man football... but in the second half, the scoring began! The game went down to the very last second... both teams played a great game, but RCA prevailed!!! Congratulations to Coach Travis Creasy and his able assistants for putting together a great season, and congratulations to the players who hung in there and worked together as a team and never gave up! In the championship game, there were several opportunities to hang their heads and quit, but they fought back time after time and showed a lot of character and heart. They did the same throughout the season -- they never gave up! Great game, and great season! Already looking forward to next year! :-)
