St Peter Plymouth as I found it, except the first aerial photo and the last photo of the tower. In the aerial it still has its 1880s pitched roof and in the trower photo the side ailses still have their gable ends. These was lost to incendiary bombs in 1941. These interior photos are of the 1955 rebuilding and although the interior roof looks gently pitched it is in fact suspended from a flat roof. That leaked like a sieve when I arrived in 1978. It became so bad that it destroyed the lighting circuits and the underfloor electric heating. So in 2007 we undertook a major restoration and re-ordering. St Peters now has a stainless steel pitched roof....and its dry! New underfloor heating (water)........ and its warm!
