Stanley Kubrick was a genius. What constitutes his genius? his films ( 2001 SO) symbolic references to contemporary society (Our present 46 years after its release) Fr example DAVE being FireWalled by Hal. SK adapted the screenplaty from Arthur C Clarks book and incorporated his own futuristic vision. Anyone who died before now would have missed the point of the film while they were alive. We can only understand its ending now because it predicted how computers will dominate society and create new biometrics.. IT ;] raises 2 questions. Do we control technology or does it control us? 2. Is this film its own self forfilloing prophecy. In other words did this film inspire the design process in the internets creation leading up till now 46 years later? . The film worked. Its formal references to the authoritarian nature of Cinema and the influence of its hidden devices.. We didnt even start to create desktop computers till long after the making of this film. EVERYONE who saw it at the time had no idea what the end of the film meant. I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA! Till now. He IS a GENIUS. Now I do. The Starchild represents the birth of meaning. This film was not designed in 1969 to have its meaning known until 2001. And he bloody well pulled it off! SK rep. Of Stae=r Child Very Prolife https://youtube/watch?v=AXS8P0HksQo
