Im not surprised with the backlash over Coach Dungys comments, which were an honest coaching perspective not related to anything other than the fact that the media is going to make a circus about Michael Sam, who already has a reality show on The Oprahs network instead of making sure an end of the 7th round draft pick makes the cut which statistically is tough to do for anyone. I remember when Dungy and Lovie Smith were circus wheeled into the racial undertones being farmed by the media when they opposed each other in the Super Bowl. All they gave a shit about was their faith and winning the game, and not the hoopla everyone wanted them to crusade about. The focus should be on a draft player making the cut and not turning him into a circus act story which harmfully segregates him from his team and dream profession, which I hope he succeeds at. That will ultimately make him more valuable and an inspiration to anyone trying to get into the league.
