Steven Slebos asked if were being targeted by refs. Stats are below, but it seems like theres some targeting against SEA, DE and NW. Or the 3 teams play very hard. - I dont think theyre calling an abnormal amount of penalties, I think that comes from certain sloppy players. But I do think the refs call penalties that screw up our momentum. Its always on game changing plays. So I think its calculated and covered up by a ton of legit penalties from a few players. Heres the numbers I crunched: 1st - # of penalties (102) 1st - in false starts (20) 1st - offsides (9) 4th - penalty yards [775] 5th - offensive holding (14) 6th - defensive holding (12) 6th - “other” (29) 7th - unnecessary roughness (7) 17th - delay of game (3) 17th - offensive pass interference (2) 21st - illegal contact (2) 20th - defensive pass interference (4) 32nd - roughing the passer (zero!) Number of penalties: 1st - Seahawks 2nd - Broncos 3rd - Patriots Penalty Yards: 1st - Patriots 2nd - Broncos 4th - Seahawks False Starts: 1st - Seahawks 2nd - Patriots 3rd - Broncos Offsides: 1st - Seahawks 2nd - Broncos 22nd - Patriots Defensive Pass Interference: 2nd - Patriots 3rd - Broncos 20th - Seahawks “Other” Penalties: 6th - Seahawks 7th - Penalties 9th - Broncos AND HOW IT BREAKS DOWN FOR THE SEAHAWKS: 28% “other 19% false starts 14% offensive holding 12% defensive holding 9% offsides 7% unnecessary roughness 4% defensive pass interference 3% delay of game 2% offensive pass interference 2% illegal contact 20% of the false starts are Okung. 52% of the “other” penalties are by Bennett, Wilson, McDaniel & Gilliam. 50% of holding penalties by Maxwell, Simon, Okung & Carpenter. 33% of penalty yards by Bennett, Maxwell, Simon & Carpenter. 44% of offsides by Bennett.
