Still dont believe in God? Chew on this: This week, a former student has been talking to me about a desperately bad situation in her marriage. I insisted that she lay down an ultimatum with her husband - a demand for him to go with her to see a Christian counselor. She agreed and asked for the name of a good counselor in her small Midwestern city. I knew of no one. So I called a well known and well connected apologist friend of mine. Yesterday, we tried to find someone and failed. We pretty much gave up. Then, suddenly, a woman writes my apologist friend and sends a large donation to his ministry. She signs her name and email address and hometown to the letter. It is the very same small Midwestern city where my former student lives. Neither me nor my apologist friend had heard of the place before yesterday when the former student and then the donor had mentioned it. So my friend the apologist asked the donor whether she knew of any trusted Christian counselors in town. She replied with a list of four names and complete contact information. Does the new year bring new hope? I say it is a new year with the same eternal Hope.
