Still on Palestine--Israel brouhaha. When a former colleague commented ...I think Nigeria did whats best for her- Abstain from voting. She was neutral, and thats okay to satisfy both christians and muslims in this country. I overlooked it, as this is the basic, naive believe; that Israel occupation of some parts of Palestine is a sort of religious face off -- Xtian Vs Muslims. Lol. But when someone I highly respect here decided to submit a thought of similar theme as as above, in inbox I was more disappointed than irritated. Seriously I overate some people on here (not being rude). My position was informed majorly by my shared humanity n a bit of religious brotherhood, which I think am entitled to. I dont blame us sha, cos the ignorance is on both side. If at all the oppression is a religious one, it would be termed Jewish Vs Muslims but again, this will be a wrong coinage. From ethnic group would also be wrong. A basic search is bound to show you that in both the countries in question Christians are minority. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wikipedia: Israel -- 74.9 - 75.3% of the total population are designated as Jewish. [Xtians and others make up about 7%] Palestine -- 80 - 85% are Muslims, Jewish - 12-14%, about 1% Xtians. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agreed, theres are historical sites in Israel that are relevant to Christians, but please see it not from that prism, for Israel is only happy to have them, for it boost its economy. Above all, International politics have little or no regard for religion or whatsoever. Its purely about geography, interest n citizenship. Just run a simple search on the countries bombed by the U.S n see for yourself if it was ever about religion. Nothings changed up till now. Maybe a little, and the brunt is often on the innocent Muslims. Please!
