Stolen from Wordpress: Its tough being a dad... especially so, if you have a little girl to call your own... Whoa.. you think Im accusing the girl child and I am in preference for a male dominated society.. Hell No!! It is tough to be a dad to a little girl because right from the moment, you hold her in your arms, you are afraid to let go... Before you become a dad, before you even become a husband, you might have ill treated a lot of girls.. no, not all guys are like that, but the world has more than its share of wild, reckless men who take women for a ride just because, well because they are men Yet, the world shifts and the light shines when you hold a girl in your arms. You cant for the sake of your life imagine a guy getting ten metres close to your daughter.. You want her to be forever yours and yet happy.. and yet full of life... If you could give your life for an extra smile, you would not think again. Yet, there are things beyond your reach.. No, I dont mean a dad doesnt loves his son, but talk about a girl and the toughest of hearts melts.. In this notepad, I will tell you what is so tough about being a dad.. I dont know much about other religious customs, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and others.. yet, I will share a few details regarding how hard it is.. To be a DAD in general!! Giving away your daughter to a total stranger-- a man you do not know as closely as you would want to.. doesnt it breaks your single heart into a million pieces and yet you know you have to do it for your daughter.. Seeing your daughter grow up and feeling proud at her moves, at her achievement, at her smile and knowing that one day, you wont be able to see all of this.. one day., it will all become a haze, a memory.. you wont see her daily.. you may hear her on the phone, but the part of your heart, the part that beats the most will once be taken away from you and handled to someone you do not know... that comes as a part of being a DAD to a baby girl... Being a dad is living a nightmare.. a beautiful nightmare... You love your daughter sooo much that you want her to have the best riches, the finest man and yet when you give her away, you know you are never going to be the same again.. the love is more overwhelming than what words can hold.. the love is so strong that no hearts can hold and yet you know how to let go.. Mothers know what it is to separate.. They hold the baby inside their womb for nine months and then they let her go from inside them to outside them.. that is letting go too.. but a DAD, he gives all his heart to the tiny bundle of joy, he loves her more than he ever could, he wants to make up for those nine months when he couldnt express what she meant to her and then he has to LET GO... Every inch inside breaks and yet you have to gather your hurt, smile and bless that an unknown man may love her more than you ever did.. knowing all the while that if God cut open your heart, there will be no blood but memories of your child... That for me is the love of your child.. so raw.. so strong that it makes you weak.. and in that weakness, it oozes a strength within.. Well, be a DAD!! It is both painful and exhilarating.. Watch your girl grow and let your heart flutter.. one day, she will leave but not before she gave you memories to be by your side that will bright every dark night.. Yes, sons are dear to us too, but girls.. they are magic..
