Stop the car!!! You shouldnt be on Facebook while driving anyway, but this adorableness is too much to resist! This is Doc, a 5 month old GOLDENDOODLE puppy. Whats that you say? Hes *gasp* Black?!?!! Yes we know, but Goldendoodle he is. He happens to be the bouncing baby boy of Ellie, the English Golden Retriever who was surrendered with him, and a silver Standard Poodle we have not met. At 5 months old, little Doc is well on his way to being a very sizable boy, and our vet estimates around 85 Lbs when full grown. He is up to date on vaccines, has been neutered and is crate trained and almost housebroken. Since he is a show stopper , we are sure you are still reading, so here is the most important part. Darling little Doc did NOT have the best socialization prior to coming to GDU. He is a very fearful pup, and although he does not try to bite or lunge, he will growl at strangers and run away when they approach him. He is FANTASTIC for his foster parents and those he knows well, and is a typical bouncy doodle in familiar places, however he is an old soul, lower energy then most doodles, and LOVES to be around other dogs. For these reasons please NOTE, While not normally our policy, there are these adoption restrictions for Doc. 1. He will NOT be allowed to be adopted to a home with small children. Although with training and time he will likely overcome his reservations and fear, we will not allow him to be put into a situation which may result in a negative outcome for anyone. There will be no exceptions to this. 2. His new family needs to have another dog. The age of the dog is of no concern, old, young, bald, purple, doesnt matter. But he really does rely on his foster siblings to gage his response to new stimuli. 3. (Goes with number 2) his new family MUST be dog savvy, and MUST be willing to prepay for obedience training with a positive reinforcement trainer, and provide proof of this. He will NEED help, and patience, and understanding We know this appears as though we are asking for the moon, but we are confident there is a family out there looking for this darling boy, and we can promise he will in turn bring immense joy to the people in his life.
