Strength for Sammi update... I had just completed my last post when I received an amazing phone call from a very special woman in Boston. Her daughter also has RA or as she said JRA in the jaw. Her daughter had joint replacement surgery on her jaw a year ago. She is only twelve. She informed me that Sammi most likely has JRA in her legs due to one leg being longer than the other, her eye because she is almost blind in one eye and who knows where else. She stated that tumors occur in children with JRA. This all means the puzzle of Sammis life is beginning to make some sort of sense. She also stated that if Sammi didn,t have joint surgery within months her jaw would lock shut. There is a wonderful Dr. in Boston that this lady takes her daughter to. She informed me she would speak to him personally about Sammis case with my permission. She also asked me to call him Monday morning and he, personally would return my phone call. Looks like we will be making a trip to Boston in the near future to meet this miracle worker. I feel blessed to have met this woman through the arthritus foundation. They have all been so supportive and helpul since I reached out to them. Sammi and I felt lost yesterday and today hope has once again blessed us.
