Stress can be good for you. Fascinating research by Stanford professor Firdaus Dhabhar confirms what many of us workaholics have been suspecting all this time: stress is a built-in feature of the human brain, not something to be avoided at all costs. Just like with interval training (which, btw, is an excellent short-term stressor), alternating regular hits of high stress with periods of low stress or no stress actually helps your immune and cardiovascular systems and boosts the brains receptivity to learning.
