Student unravels piriformis in one NKT™ treatment. "Patient referred to me with piriformis syndrome with pain in her L buttock and SI joint with bending over, descending stairs, and rolling in bed. I initiated the NKT protocol with the patient in supine testing the piriformis. I tested this against her glute max, which was inhibited with improvement upon TL to the piriformis. Next session, her symptoms had returned so I tested for more relationships. I found her contralateral QL, psoas, and TVA to all be inhibited by her L piriformis. After treating the piriformis with ischemic release and stretch, I had her perform glute activations, a basic supine hooklying core stabilization exercise in marching heel to contralateral knee, and seated weight shifts to activate the inhibited QL. She came back the next appointment with no pain."
