Summer is sweet and petite with a terrier look, leaner in body type than her stockier counterparts. Summer was initially nervous and difficult to remove her from her kennel. Once leashed, however, she warmed up quickly to her handler. Ears back, tail wagging, and body slinking behind, Summer was happy to find her way underfoot and readily accepted affection. So, even though our little heroine may have had some difficulty in the past, she seems to be resilient and astute enough to understand that anyone she meets should be judged as an individual. Now she sticks to everyone like glue, reveling in attention grabbing and belly rubs whenever she can. Summer did well on the handling portions of her behavior assessment, but she will need some help in dealing with her food guarding issues. Smart and eager to please, Summer would likely make an excellent student under the tutelage of an experienced, committed owner. While engaging in play behavior with her human friends, she is puppylike, yet polite, gentle and not mouthy. Summer would be the perfect addition to a quiet family looking for a docile, loving young pup. She is RESCUE ONLY so please contact a NH rescue now if you can foster or adopt!!
