Summer is upon us and it’s the ideal time for homeowners to consider home energy upgrades. I’d like to update you on SEAI’s 2014 home energy grant programmes namely Better Energy Homes and Better Energy Warmer Homes. To date, grant programmes have invested €283M in helping over 263,000 homeowners to reduce their energy bills, while supporting over 2,300 jobs. Better Energy Homes - offers homeowners grants for roof insulation, wall insulation, heating systems and solar panels. This scheme will remain open into 2015. SEAI would encourage all homeowners to consider these grants while they are still available and to do all energy upgrades during the milder summer months. Applications can be made online at seai.ie/betterenergyhomes or by calling 1850 927 000. Better Energy Warmer Homes - is available to eligible low-income homeowners and provides free energy upgrades including attic & cavity wall insulation, draught proofing, lagging jackets, energy efficient lighting and energy advice.
