Sunday 18th Plant Fair - 10am - 5pm Now in its sixth year the Farmleigh Plant Fair takes place once again on the beautiful grounds of the estate. A wide variety of specialist growers from all over Ireland will have an extensive range of special and exotic plants for sale. Special Guest Gardener Marie Staunton will be with us on the day. Marie will deliver two talks as follows: Talk 1: Top Tips and Plants for Achieving Colour in the Garden all year round 12.30pm-1.30pm Talk 2: Gardening with Children - Teach them how to propagate their own plants 3.15-4.25pm Dale Treadwell with Fluterbies and Busy Bees - Outdoors. 12noon-5pm Worldwide butterflies and bees are increasingly valued as bio indicators and for their ecosystem service provision. However, they are in increasing peril. It is widely accepted that physical demonstration of, and active participation in, species conservation greatly increases the likelihood of social learning taking place, and thus a wider appreciation of nature. Join Dale on the day and participate in novel conservation design and creation events suitable for all the family. A fun way of learning more about butterflies and bees and their impact on human activities. Childrens Garden with themed activities by Early Childhood Creativity Theatre. 11am-5pm Flower Arrangement Demonstration takes place at 1.45pm-3pm Food Markets - Farmyard. 10am-5pm. A selection of superb food produce by artisans from around Ireland. Music in the Bandstand with Ardee Concert Band - Pleasure Grounds 2pm - 4pm
