Sunday morning synopsis: mostly cloudy conditions are present - TopicsExpress

Sunday morning synopsis: mostly cloudy conditions are present this morning for most of the coverage area, and that will continue for much of the day ahead of a secondary cold front. Some showers are expected later this afternoon and evening, and perhaps a thunderstorm, but thunderstorms should be lesser in coverage today - very isolated in large part due to the cloud cover and lower temps and convective temps not being reached in most areas. Regardless, thunderstorms should be low-topped not promoting a lot of lightning where they do occur, and favor southern areas of SE PA, DE, and southern NJ with the highest probability of occurrence. Showers can occur just about anywhere ahead of the front, mainly later in the afternoon. The bigger story later today will be the increase in wind with the pressure gradient tightening, and winds could gust as high as 35mph this afternoon ahead and along the front. One day of below normal temps Monday despite sunny skies, and then a progressive warm-up for the rest of the work week with 80°F possible by Friday for many locations. Have a great rest of your weekend...
