Superman Snatch Pulls: Heres an exercise I incorporate to ingrain the movement patterns for the snatch. One of the most important coaching cues I ever read was the following, Your torso should remain at the same angle from the moment the bar leaves the floor until the bar passes the knees. For me, this was a a cue that I could decipher and feel as I lifted. If an athlete is able to achieve this, then so many other things will fall in place: The bar will sweep back into the hip, the lats will engage, the athlete will reach the power position, etc. However, if you tell someone all of those things at once, they will over-think the lifts. This exercise exaggerates the movement and builds the patterning needed to make the snatch more natural. Note: Also, be prepared for your posterior chain to be on FIRE.
