Supported by USAID - US Agency for International Development and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the ASEAN Wildlife Enforcement Network (ASEAN-WEN) will develop a new project to fight transnational and organized wildlife crime. As part of those project initiatives, the first ASEAN-WEN Regional Stakeholders Law and Policy Workshop on Wildilfe Crime is being held in #Singapore from Dec 8-10, 2014. The workshops shall serve as a platform and guide for the development of a law enforcement handbook to provide criminal justice and law enforcement officials from the ASEAN region with a strategic approach to prosecute wildlife criminals. At the opening ceremony of the workshop yesterday, Deputy Chief of Mission Blair Hall said, The United States remains committed to a strong ASEAN community and a powerful coalition of civil society partners that together can tackle the wildlife crisis head on. We seek a region-wide law enforcement response to protect endangered species and their habitats.
