Suppose a Student has every opportunity, and resources from his parents made available to him to pursue his studies but refuses to be educated; how would you feel if you are a parent to this person? I guess, it would be painful because every parent worthy the salt desires for the independence of his/ her child. My dear friend, how many God-given opportunities have you and I utilised to become what you are meant to be and for the glory of God? Oftentimes, you and I waste the opportunities while many people are looking for what we have for their development and greatness. Jesus was disappointed with the two Cities namely Chorazin and Bethsaida for wasting the opportunities given in many mighty-works performed in their backyards instead of converting they persisted in doing evil (Confer, Matthew 11:20-24). ...for if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Suppose, what the Lord God has done to me in terms of blessings and availability of spiritual exercises and the sacraments, marital status, high paying job, education opportunity, favourable weather patterns, peaceful environment or caring family had been given to another what would he/ she have done? This is the question for more introspection. There is no time or opportunity to waste in this world but to use for our own good and the good of others. Peace be with you.
