Surujrattan Rambachan Governments are like businesses. They set goals, appoint people and depend on the human resources to manage and deliver to ensure sustainability of the organization. From time to time human beings falter and organizations would review performance and make changes., This is no different for a government. However at the end of the year when the results are measured what the people are concerned about is teh quality of service they received and how their lives have been impacted by their relationship with the organization with whom they did business. In the case of the PP Govt, we have always admitted our errors and the PM made the changes in the interest of the public good. In this matter she has never faltered. She swore to govern without fear of favour and has kept to her oath in office. tell me which other PM has done this? At the same time there is more and more agreement that the PP Govt has exceeded expectations in terms of affecting the quality of life and productivity. The rate of inflation is below 5%, the unemployment rate is below 4%. the economy is in a growth mode once again. Schools are being built, infrastructure is being developed and improved all over the country. The foreign investors are coming in with their investments thus showing confidence in the economy. now tell me for a govt which started with a sink hole created by CLICO of 24 billion, this has to be an example of a turn around which i n other parts of the world would have been heralded as an example of good and astute management. In managing under such circumstances no jobs were lost in teh public sector. Wages were not cut . In fact wages were increased and negotiations left by the PNM in which they had offered 0% have been solved. Yes we are challenged by crime. In the current scenario of the life sports I am sure that those who have done wrong will be held responsible. Let me remind though that teh :POLice must now do their work. It must be done expeditiously so that public confidence will be retained. The GOvt does not lay charges. It is the duty of the POlice SErvice and the Office of the DPP. In ten months the citizens of our country will judge the PM and the govt on performance and keeping the oath of office as they swore to. 1 min · Like Surujrattan Rambachan Write a comment...
