Susan C. Keller. Listened to the Kara Tippits interview you - TopicsExpress

Susan C. Keller. Listened to the Kara Tippits interview you posted. I cant get it out of my mind. Ive looked at her website and her blog. Ive always been blog-challenged. I need a step by step, apparently. I can read them, just cant figure out how to respond. I digress, what a shocker. There is so, so much I could say about her. About her whole mindset about her illness and how it is Jesus intent to teach the beauty of suffering. It reminds me of your recommendation to me, probably 15-20 years ago to read Elizabeth Elliotts Pathway Through Suffering. It reminds me (painfully) of the time I called you to invite you to a Sisters reunion at Isle of Palms. You told me tearfully about the unspeakably painful death of your sister Margarets first son, age 2. The same age as my own son at the time. I was pregnant with Katy. I remember exactly where I was. I hung up and immediately called my mother. I was crying so hard that I dont know how in the world she understood a word I said. I told her your terrible news and how unspeakably horrible it was. I never said a word about my own son. When I stopped blubbering it got quiet on the phone and she said, Krista, the only way you can avoid the fear you are feeling right now, is to choose not to have children. Yeah, thanks Mom, its a liitle late, Ive got one at daycare and one in the oven... reminiscent of Jesus conversation with Peter when the crowds of disciples said, Yeah, Dude, dont think so. Youre asking way too much. Were out. Peace! Jesus asked the 12, so, are you out as well? Peter probably looked at Him incredulously. What, are you kidding? And, so like, where would we go? Its too late. We know. You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. You have the Words of eternal life. NKKG. (New Krista Kuhn Grabenbauer version). Were in this thing. To suffer with Him and somehow to count it all joy. To declare that its beautiful. Not sure why this older song by Casting Crowns is what keeps coming to mind, when there are so many great contemporary Christian songs out there which say, I will praise You in this storm. Anyway, Thank you Sister-Friend, for a life-changing post. I love you. There, I did it again Suzanne McCall & Stephanie Alex Pennington. Im just a rambler...
