Sokkal csaladcentrikusabb lettem es vegre tudatosult bennem, hogy barmi is tortenjen, barhol legyek a vilagban, a csaladomra mindig szamithatok. Szoval majusban hazajottem,es kezdtem gondolkozni, hogy akkor hogyan is tovabb. Minden kezdodott elolrol. Azt tudtam hogy maradok a hajozasnal, de egyelore nem oceanjaro…hat akkor mi maradt, csak is a folyami. Persze Google-ztam reggeltol napestig, CV-ket dobaltam tobb helyre, yachtokra is,de egy kis ideig semi nem tortent. Aztan augusztus vegen kicsit felgyorsultak az esemenyek. Megint googleztam es komolyan mondom ez ilyen Isteni gondviseles, mar szeptember 3ika volt es rataltam a Viking River Cruis hajostarsasgra. Hallottam mar roluk, es Pesten is sokszor lattam oket a Dunanal es az interjut szeptember 6ikan tartottak. Na mondom ez valahogy osszeklappolt. El is hivtak az interjura, ami Marriottban volt es nem akarok nagykepu lenni de egeszen megnyero voltam. J Mar az nap meg is mondtak, hogy fel vagyok veve es majd ertesitenek, hogy mikor menjek. Na hat jo, gondoltam ez is mar csak jovore lesz mert a folyami hajok januartol marciusig nem uzemelnek, hacsak nincsenek jegtero halak..hahhaha…Szoval keszultem haza Anyahoz es kapom a telefont szeptember 24en hogy tudnek-e menni vasarnap….oooo hat melyik vasarnap..jah hogy szeptember 29. Vasarnap. Persze. Tudok. Na akkor repjegy lefoglalva, masnap uzsgyi haza, egy gyors bucsbuli es mar vissza is Pestre. Hirtelen nem tudtam hova rakni a gondolataimat. Parizsba szolt a repjegyem, de onnan meg el kellett vonatoznom Eszak- Franciaorszagba, Rouen-ba, ahol egy jo nagy seta utan sikerult megtalalni a Viking Pride nevu hajot. Oke, nem egy Oasis oft he Seas, nem is egy Dream, de nagyon tetszik. Nagyon csaladias, 150 fo vendeg, 35 szemelyzet. A vendegek 55+-osak, szoval nincs veluk gond abszolut. 8 napos hajoutakat csinlunk. 1-2. Nap Parizs, 3. Nap Vernon, 4-6. Nap Rouen es Normandiai part, 6. Nap Les Andelys, 7. Nap Conflans, 8. Nap vissza Parizs. Szoval megerkeztem a hajora szeptember 29en vasarnap, amikor Rouen-ban volt a hajo. A recepcios csaj, Irena(lengyel) es a concierge(kirandulasert felelos csaj) Nicole (Portugal), koszontottek a hajon. Gyorsan korbevezettek megmutattak a kabint. Hat…kicsike…de kaptam ideiglenesen vendeg kabint mert a masikban nem tudtam kipakolni. Este mar munkahoz is lattam. Irena el kezdett magyarzni dolgokat, de eleg hamar raereztem az izere. Napi 10 ora a melo de van egy 4 oras szunet szoval 5+5 vagy 4+6. Ez teljesen normalisnak mondhato. Egyelore nem szakadok bele a meloba, bar van egy ket adminisztrativ es konyvelesi dolog amire nagyon oda kell figyelni. Az a legjobb hogy barhol kikotunk, van szervezett kirandulas, ilyenkor teljesen kiurul a hajo es van ido a sajat dolgunkra. A kaja job mint az USAban, van sok Magyar, mindenki segitokesz es mar volt szemelyzetis buli. Erzekeny tema..fizetes…itt nem szeretnem reszletezni hogy mennyit keresek, mert felek leesnetek a szekrol, de nagyjabol 3szor annyit mint az USAban. Aki erdekel, irjon ram privatban. Van egy alapfizetes es ehhez jon a borravalo. Heti 200-400 EUR. Nem rossz. 3 hetig leszek ezen a hajon es utana megyek a Viking Spiritre, ami ugyanez az utvonal. Januar elejen meg mar megyek is haza. J Az utvonalrol irok kesobb bovebben, amint lesz alkalmam megismerni oket. C’est la vie. Well a very good morning Ladies and Gentelmen, welcome on board the Viking Pride…before we go on board, let me tell you how I got here. Well, as you know, or may not know, I worked for Carnival in the Caribbean. There are quite a few reasons for the change, but most of all I wanted to be closed to my family. Its been a year since my Dad passed away and many things have changed, like I have. I became more family centered and finally it made perfect sense that anywhere I go, anything happens to me, I can ALWAYS count on my family. So I came home in may and I started to think about whats next. I came to the beginning. I knew that I will stick with cruising but not the ocean cruising for now..well whats left then, only the river cruising. Of course I was googleing from morning till midnight, sending CVs to many places, even to yachts, but nothing has happened. Then in the end of august things became faster. I googled again and Im telling you for real, a sign came from heaven, it was 3rd of September and I found Viking River Cruises. I have heard about them before and I saw their ships in Pest on the riverside and he interview was held on 6th of September. I was like, okay it should work, im gonna get it. I was invited for the interview in Budapest in Hotel Marriott..and honestly..I was just simply great. J I was told on the same day that I got hired and they will let me know when I need to go and where. I thought that I start only next year, because the season is almost over and ships are not going from January till march unless there are ice breaker fish…hahah… So I was preparing home and I got a phone call on the 24th of sep: So can you start on Sunday…well which Sunday..oh 29th..this Sunday. Sure. I can. So I booked the ticket to Paris and I had to catch a train to Rouen, Upper Normandy, where after a long walk I found the Viking Pride ship. It is not Oasis of the Seas, neither the Dream but I like it a lot. Its 150 guests onboard with 35 crew. Guests are above 55 so they are completely fine. We do 8- day cruises. 1-2. day Paris, 3. Day Vernon, 4-6. day Rouen and Normandy beaches , 6. day Les Andelys, 7. day Conflans, 8. Day back to Paris. So I arrived to the ship on Sunday when the ship was in Rouen. The recepcionist Irena who is polish and the concierge (responsible for shore excursions) Nicole from Portugal welcomed me. They showed me around the ship, showed my cabina..well it is small..but I got a guest cabin for now because I have nowhere to put my clothes. I started to work in the evening already. Irena explained me some basics and im quite good so far. I work 10hrs daily and I have a 4 hrs brake inbetween its like 5+5 or 6+4- It is completely normal. For now I don’t have much to do, some administrative and bookkeeping thins I need to pay attention to. The best thing is that everywhere we dock there is an organized tour so the ship is totally empty, we time for our staff. Food is better than in the USA, I met quite a few Hungarians, everybody is super helpful and friendly and we already had crew party yesterday. Sensitive topic..salary. I don’t really want to detail it here because im afraid you would fall off the chair but I earn 3x more than in US. If you really want to know write me a message. We have a base salary and we get 200-400 EUR tips per week. Not bad. I will be here for 3 weeks then I will be transferred to the Viking Spirit. Same route, same type of ship.
