In Bible times, it is used to condemn criminals who are guilty as charged. Several wrong doctrines have circulated the Christian circle whereby they painted the cross as a burden, misfortune, problems or predicaments. None of Jesus disciples had problems before they choose to follow Jesus. They were well to do in their respective fields. The symbolic representation of the cross entails a personal decision-making stage reached to follow Christ. God will not force you to accept salvation or believe in His son. He does that by conviction and to whom He will. Without Jesus cross, the human race wouldnt have experienced salvation. Jesus had to forgo His glory in heaven for a more exceeding weight of glory hereafter. Have you taken up your cross? Nobody can do that for you, its a personal decision that you must take. When you believe and follow Him, grace is released upon you. Unfortunately, many believers hadnt make up their minds to follow Jesus. Sticking out one leg into the world and another in God cannot lead to an effective carrying of your cross. You must decide to forgo every weight of sin, pleasures of the world: its kingdom, cultures, glories and follow Christ in submission and obedience. Your life must be condemned to worldly music, trends, fashion, practices and relationship patterns while youre conformed to Christ. Having made the decision to follow Him, you can then boldly confess, the cross before me, the world behind me. You must become a disciple to follow Christ and not a church goer or member. Disciples learn directly from the Master. Are you ready to take up your cross? Decide today and follow Him, there might not be a tomorrow. Lord Jesus, strengthen my decision to take up my cross and follow You in Jesus name.
