TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM TED CRUZ PAGE - THE FIRST FEW OF 3000+ COMMENTS ON HIS POSTING ON NET NEUTRALITY ===> Net neutrality is the biggest regulatory threat to the Internet and will lead to fewer choices, fewer opportunities, and higher prices for consumers. Ted Cruz: Net neutrality is ‘Obamacare for the Internet’ 3,976 SharesLike· · Share · Buffer Top Comments Write a comment... Keith French Ted, I am as conservative as they come.... I want government out of just about everything... and I hate to say it, really hate to say it, but Obama is right on this one. I do not want my access and internet speed controlled by my ISP. It will be. The internet has been an open forum with little to no restrictions, that will change and not for the better. Bottom line, do not go against freedom of the net just because Obama is for it. Even an old blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. Like · Reply · 901 · November 10 at 6:15pm Ian Jensen Thank you. While we are obviously on different sides of the political spectrum you have renewed my faith that there are Republicans out there who are not immediate Obamas for it, Im against it!. You claim to represent the people, and in return for their votes, you take money from Comcast and spew bullshit lies that are literally the opposite of the truth. Christ, do you even know the meaning of the word neutrality? Guess what, in this case, it means exactly the dictionary definition. So shut the hell up, learn how to use a dictionary, and stop lying. Like · 5 · November 10 at 10:07pm View more replies Gregory De Los Santos You silly boob. You have no idea what net neutrality is...and if you do youre lying about what it does to your constituents and nationally. While the notion of a politician lying doesnt surprise me in the slightest the fact you could lie about something so critical to the infrastructure of our nation as the internet means you are purposefully trying to sabotage our nations future. So lets just say you dont know what net neutrality is here it is in a nutshell: ISP Provider A is not allowed to charge Company A a higher price to use the same bandwidth because they are in ISP Provider Bs territory. Or ISP Provider A is not allowed to charge Company A a higher price for a fast lane for service. If such was the case some of the more widely used internet startups like Google would not have been able to exist if Comcast had been able to throttle them. Meanwhile we live in an era where there are outright monopolies for service in some areas. Why is in our great nation I can only have the choice of one service provider for an entire city? Do you have any idea what that means? It means higher prices, it means slower speeds and it means big business does not have to really compete with other companies. Obamacare for the internet....slapping a label onto something you dont like so it can poison the waters in peoples opinion is atrocious. I implore people to watch the following video. Its not only funny, it does a good job at explaining what net neutrality is. Its not some government regulation, its something that our overseas allies in Europe and Asia have figured out is key to making sure their economies expand in the 21st Century. AT&T and big cable have proven they cant be trusted and net neutrality is necessary to keep fair competition. These big monopolies own their own competing streaming services and want nothing more than to be able to relegate competitors to an internet slow lane. As a conservative voter and IT professional, I can assure you that Net Neutrality is a GOOD THING. Internet providers (who are also content owners) cant be trusted (as has already been proven) to allow consumers equal access to content from their competitors. This is why the government needs to ensure Net Neutrality as it protects the consumer from the bias of their Internet provider. This is especially true since we dont have real competition in this space.
