So did a six year old nephew who once spent a weekend at the house shows terror at the mention of going back. He will not talk about what happened there. The psychic who went to the house will not return and was afraid for the people who once lived there, said the article in Womans World Magazine. In 1976, an article Carroll County Farmhouse is Spirited Ghostly Happenings Are Recounted, had taken a first hand glimpse of what the family had been experiencing while living in the old red brick house built in 1780. Once a civil war hospital and a childrens orphanage, the home was housed by many spirits. One eyewitness who once lived in the home said, as they listened to darkness, the front door slammed shut. But there were other things. Voices. A man in gray on the hall stairway who disappeared at the turn of a head. Moises in the ramshackle summer house adjacent to the main house. They would here footsteps on the wooden floors coming from the upstairs, voices in other rooms. One occupant was pushed down the stairs. Later on, the furniture began to move. Chairs that normally were kept in one room were found in another room. A desk was found shattered in an upstairs bedroom when no one was up there. The piano started playing music by itself. Then, they had had enough and called out a psychic. The psychic that visited the house remembers only three energy forces. She said there is something there. Something restless and threatening. She said she believes it to be Black Mattie. She said she saw her with a meat cleaver in her hand. She said, this one is the one you have to fear. She then drew a sketch of an upstairs room, one she had never seen before. The family members recognized it to be one of the bedrooms. The psychic told them it was in this room that a wounded Confederate Solider had died while under the care of a Dr. Willis ____. The lady in Blue is a gentle soul who likes to return to the house in which she once lived. The psychic told them that she thinks the family should leave. But the family refused. She advised them to put crosses over every doorway. Then one night, one of the family members was watching T.V and something was telling her to burn those crosses. She called and told the psychic this. The psychic told her, if you had of done what they told you to do, you would have needed an exorcism in that house. While we were investigating the house after it had burned down, we noticed something different about the structure of the house. The house was built out of old red brick. But we did notice one unusual stone. It looks to me as if its a quarts or a limestone. They say that limestone and quartz are good stones for holding residual residue. I am not sure that I am a huge believer on that, but maybe that could hold a clue is to why this house had so many trapped souls. **Since 2011, the 1780 red brick Angels Pleasure no longer is standing. It caught on fire. No one knows the cause of the fire to this day.
