THANKFUL TREE When our children were growing up, in the month of - TopicsExpress

THANKFUL TREE When our children were growing up, in the month of November I drew a tree (with no leaves) on a large poster board and let the kids color the trunk. I drew leaves in fall colors and let the kids cut them out. Each night at dinner, everyone got a leaf. Joey would give a topic (such as the neighbors) and everyone had to write one thing they were thankful for on their leaf. Each of us attached our leaf to the tree when we had finished writing. We sent leaves to those who we would be celebrating Thanksgiving with so they could do the leaves too. On Thanksgiving Day, everyone got to read the leaves they had written on. It was a wonderful way for each of us to realize how much we had to be grateful for. Is there something special your family does to prepare for Thanksgiving Day you would like to share with us all? Thanks!
