THE BLOOD BEAST TERROR 1967 with Robert Flemyng. Interesting bits of trivia: both actors had just completed an episode of THE AVENGERS that summer, Cushing in Return of the Cybernauts and Flemyng in You Have Just Been Murdered. In BLOOD BEAST, Flemyng had replaced Basil Rathbone as Mallinger, who had died in New York City July 21 1967, waiting to leave for England to do the film (shooting began Aug 7). You Have Just Been Murdered began shooting at this time, with Leslie French cast as a victimized character named Lord Rathbone, while Flemyng plays banker Lord Maxted. Cushing may just have signed on simply because he wanted to work with Basil Rathbone! Such a teaming would have been fascinating to watch...but probably no better at the box office.
