THE BOTSWANA DEMOCRATIC PARTY A-TEAM REGROUPS AHEAD OF THE 2019 - TopicsExpress

THE BOTSWANA DEMOCRATIC PARTY A-TEAM REGROUPS AHEAD OF THE 2019 GENERAL ELECTIONS!! For the past 10 years,Ian Khama full of prejudice and hate has committed deeds so foul that our whole nation now teeters on the brink of disaster. It is my firm belief that Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) now has within it all the essential components of an explosion far greater than that of the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) formation which, in its brutality and repercussions, will have few parallels in modern history. I believe that the force of this explosion will have the effect of a violent earthquake on the whole edifice of a free nation. I believe that the most complex and excruciating problems the BDP has had to face will flow from this explosion. For that reason, it is now clear that the greatest and imminent threat to the life of the Botswana Democratic Party is the deteriorating leadership of Ian Khama. Recently the BDP led government through the office of the Attorney general challenged the standing orders on the nomination of the Vice President, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National assembly. A matter in which kept the nation pondering rather than looking into the principal objective being who is to be Vice President. All what news reporters had to report on was the ousting of Margret Nasha by the BDP junta to pave way for Kokorwe. This ousting has been primarily focused on bringing forth stability within the government ranks and BDP leadership. Margret Nasha often considered as a fence politician when it came to BDP factions has played a pivoted role in the ousting of many politicians including the resignation of David Magang. To some Dr Nasha is regarded as the Iron lady of our time, though in precision she is a trailblazer, a repugnant assassin to be accurate. Dr Nasha was a cabinet minister throughout President Mogae’s tenure. At the pick of issues during Mogae’s tenure was the issue of Basarwa in CKGR. President Mogae failed constantly to explain Survival Intentional reports that Basarwa where being exploited in their own land. As the minister of Local Government, the issue fell right on Dr Nasha’s doormat. Basarwa activist and UDC member Roy Sesana gave the Mogae regime a huge headache. Dr Nasha handled the issue with daggers, wherever she turned to Roy Sesana, the FPK, opposition parties, citizens, local media and international media. With all arsenal she defended the government’s decision over the relocation of Basarwa disregarding the humanity aspect of such an act. It became clear that the government’s position regarding the Basarwa issue was solemnly to protect the business interests of the ruling elite and the Saleshandos. To date Nasha has not given an apology to Basarwa to having played a role in their ousting from their native homeland. Her recent ousting as speaker of the national assembly should not go down as denouncing of democracy by those who initiated her ousting, but rather the discarding of a worn out good to bring forth new-fangled and sound approach as means to sustain the BDP. The support of the Umbrella for Democratic Change for Dr Nasha to retain the position as speaker of the national assembly surely is a hard pill for those like myself to swallow. The matter escalated to a point of societal discourse that: UDC will support anyone who so hates or has differences with Ian Khama rather than transparency of principle and justice. Opportunists such as Nasha, should not be given the verdict to appear relevant during such a time. Her days in politics are long overdue. Just like Dr Michael Dingake, she should be encouraged to go to the farms and plough. The Umbrella for Democratic Change members of parliament support for Nasha clearly has brought with it lack of perception and disregard for what is right from wrong. The matter at hand now, which our opponents have not yet given eye to as some are still slumbering due to heavy blows they received in the just ended elections is that UDC might now turn out to be regarded as a ‘HATE KHAMA UNION’. A certain cabal within the BDP well known as the Barata party has since dislocated due to having few of its primitive members in parliament. This follows the heavy defeat of its generals Daniel Kwelagobe, Botsalo Ntuane and surprisingly now Dr Nasha. The faction has since resorted to recruiting the young Khama, Tshekedi Khama to its folds. The recruitment of Tshekedi Khama to join the Barata party faction will see for the first time in the narration of Botswana politics the Khama brothers in different camps. Ian Khama’s lobbying of the seasoned politician Jacob Nkate to replace him has not come in handy for many within the BDP. The likes of Pelonomi Venson Moitoi have joined the Tshekedi camp as means of reprisal. The Nkate camp has the support of well-placed Khama loyalists inclusive of Tebelelo Seretse, Parks Tafa and Mpho Balopi. Those well placed within the BDP state that Tshekedi’s camp is tremendously frustrated on whom is to lead at their next BDP elective congress, as Tshekedi Khama and Kgotla Autlwetse seem to be eying the same position, party Presidency. The Tshekedi Khama/Kgotla Autlwetse camp will see Samson Guma Moyo run for a second term as chairperson with Pelonomi Venson Moitoi as his Secretary General. The Jacob Nkate camp will see Tebelelo Seretse run for party chairperson and Mpho Balopi again for party Secretary General. The appointment of the young Fidelis Molao as Government whip in parliament has also shrug feathers, as Fidelis is also well associated with the Barata party faction with a couple of sympathy from the A-team. Molao’s viewed to be a true reflection of the young version of Gomolemo Motswaledi while still in the BDP. Molao is the only feasible link between the two factions. In regards to Parks Tafa, the Tshekedi camp holds a firm believes that Parks Tafa should on no account be allowed or re-appointed as legal advisor and BDP lawyer, these has created huge disagreements between the Khama brothers. While still in the mist of national confusion, some within the Botswana Congress Party did not go unnoticed as efforts to source for leverage from the BDP have resulted in unmentioned relationships and cohabitation. One Member of Parliament (name withheld) has since left his matrimonial home to stay with a woman twice his age. This alone signals how BDP rule has corroded our nation to affirm that indeed morality has died. This regrouping of the A-team will not only spell catastrophic outcomes for the BDP but also lead to a war and hopefully a split far greater than of the suspension of the late Gomolemo Motswaledi.
