THE BRIEF HISTORY OF EKITI STATE PDP GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARY TILL DATE THE PRIMARY THAT PRODUCED DR AYODELE FAYOSE ( EKITI CENTRAL) During this time, there was a plan on ground to zone the gubernatorial ticket to Ekiti Central so as to allow central to complete their 8 years term,therefore most of the aspirants from other zone were tactically advised to allow a Central ticket. The following aspirants contested in the primary: Dr S.K. Babalola Dr Ayodele Fayose Prof. Adesegun Ojo Whereas, the party was fully aware that the third candidate from Ekiti North Senatorial zone, in person of Prof Adesegun Ojo wouldnt make any meaningful impact in the primary thereafter, the Professor got one vote out of the total vote casted and Dr Ayodele Fayose therefore emerged as the candidate for the party. THE PRIMARY THAT PRODUCED ENGR. SEGUN ONI (EKITI NORTH) After due consultation by the party then, they decided to zone the ticket to Ekiti North Senatorial District and the major aspirants from other zones were tactically screened out of the race to create way for a Northern candidate. These are the list of the aspirants screened out at that point; Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, Senator Gbenga Aluko and many more from other zones.Though weaker aspirants were allowed to contest with the consciousness that they wouldnt make any head way at the primary, so Engr. SEGUN ONI emerged as the candidate for the party. EKITI N2014? So what is the partys plan for EKITI South? Are we stepping down again? Having done that in the past. Whether With Primary or Consensus candidate EKiti South ticket should not be negotiable. For equity and justice other aspirants from other zones should be allowed to step down honorably for all the aspirants from EKITI South,this is our turn.
