THE COMMUNITY OF VERSAILLES SAID THANK YOU TO NOW-RETIRED FIRE CHIEF BOB FREY VERSAILLES, Oh. --- (January. 4, 2015) After serving 35 years on the Versailles Fire Department, the last 18 years as chief, Robert Frey was recognized Sunday afternoon for those years of dedicated service. The 59-year-old Frey received honors and accolades from village officials, the Darke Co. Commission, the county fire chiefs association, and the Ohio Fire Chiefs Assn. Chief Frey called those years a rewarding ride. He received a standing ovation during a special ceremony. Firefighter Brian Pearson is the new fire chief leading a department of 23 volunteer firefighters.
