THE DANGER OF MEDIUMS SUCH AS OIL, WATER ETC. With all due respect to my colleagues, my brothers and sisters in ministry using mediums such as oil, water etc. Here are a few reasons why it should be discouraged at all levels. 1) Numbers 21:9 Moses made a bronze serpent according to GODs instruction. However, in 2 Kings 18:4 Hezekiah had to destroy it because they began to burn incense to it. It becomes a problem when peoples faith is taken away from the invisible things and placed on things tangible. Because of the weakness of human nature, people must be protected from such error. Our faith and maturity must not destroy the ones that CHRIST died for. (Romans 14:15) 2) Secondly, the Scripture is inspired and profitable for 4 things. a) Doctrine- what to believe b) Reproof- what not to believe c) Correction- how to behave and d) instruction in righteousness- how to live. 2 Timothy 3:16. We dont construct doctrine on practices, because they are temporary. While theres nothing wrong with practices but once they become a permanent way of providing solutions, then we have fallen into error. 3) From the Old Testament to the New Testament, GOD never used the same method more than once to provide a miracle, with the exception of Elijah/Elisha when they opened the Jordan River with the mantle. And with most miracles in the New Testament, JESUS spoke the WORD more than HE used mediums. 4) Mediums did not become an instruction, but a way that GOD used at that particular time. And they were time bound, meaning once a miracle was performed using a medium, a person didnt have to continue using it to sustain the miracle. Because once that happens we reduce GOD whom we should connect to by faith, to things that can be touched, and thus place our trust in the visible. 5) The Apostles were not selling mediums but used whatever was available as a point of contact. Even their shadows could heal the sick. I dont see anybody placing emphasis on the shadows. But emphasis is mostly on stuff that is merchandised. Could it be that this is also one way to make money from unsuspecting people. I know the answer will be, the water is free but the packaging is not, we are not selling the water but the packaging. Does this mean if I cant afford the bottle I cant afford healing? Since when is healing and deliverance purchased? #BlessedBeyondMeasureBBM
