The emergence of leadership of JICD is a stepping stone to the success of Jos community, the leadership came about as result of many failures and trials recorded by similar organizations in the past, in the process of trying to rescue the vulnerable people of Jos North Local government of the lopsided execution of social, economical and political developmental projects implementation by both the Plateau State and the Federal Government of Nigeria. JICD and partners in progress see it upon themselves to embark on educational and other developmental projects, to assist the teeming pupils and youths roaming about in our street in Jos, without any future. PRO 2 1.2 PRIMARY EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP SCHEME: The primary Education sponsorship scheme initiative is the first Project of JICD that focuses on building capacity and empowers children that lost their parents during the crises that engulfed people of Jos North Community, and the children of those that lost their businesses during crises and less privileged ones in the community that cannot afford to enroll their wards into primary schools. The initiative were purposely designed to contribute to the improvement of the quality of primary education and presented as a proposal to JICD leadership by Sabiu Ahmad a member of the group, after it was scrutinized, then finally approved by the JICD leadership. The main objective of the scheme is to ensure access of all school age children to the schools in our community and to address other social issues such as street begging, child street hawking, child prostitution, and early marriage without education, child labor and child abuse and thugery e.tc. Primary school education as the focal point is the first level education. Apart from home as the first agent of socialization, primary school is the first place that introduces formal education or literacy to the children. In other words, primary school education is a foundation upon which all other levels of education are built. Fafunwa (1974:187) stated that the aims of primary education is to help the child to: (a)Master the three Rs – Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic, this is to develop permanent literacy, (b)Develop sound standards of individual conduct and behaviour, (c)Acquire some skills and appreciate the value of manual work through learning. 1.3 CATCHMENT AREA: A car without fuel could not move anywhere that is the reason why the pupils need to be reinforced and implementation plan to be in place because of our limited resources we started the programme with a Pilot schemes by drawing one child from the various wards through a research conducted by the steering community and the planning division of the education scheme committee and JICD enrolled 9 children due to how we classify the various wards we conducted researched on in Jos North LGA, and the actual calculation of the cost of schools fees per annum, cost of books and cost of uniform, sum up altogether for each of the selected schools from each wards. and from each ward we selected two schools due to proximity, the schools with higher cost is what we tagged as plan A and the school with lower cost we tagged as Plan B or alternatively represented in the report scheduled as 1st School and 2nd School (attached herewith). The total children from the various wards are 67 and the amount for plan A is N 159,390.00 and plan B is N123, 100.00 respectively. 1.4 FREE DISTRIBUTION OF EXERCISE BOOKS PROGRAMME The free exercise book programme is second on the JICD approval list by the leadership. A programme well designed and proposed by Hamisu Danladi to support the Primary Education scheme, to serve also as publicity and advertisement tool of JICD programmes and also to extend assistance to the orphans and Indigents of Public schools in Jos. The exercise book contained 40 leaves, with a well design attractive customised JICD cover page that contained the activities of JICD and advertisement to attract potentials donors for partnership. The exercise book programme has already attracted the partnership of a donor who pleaded to us to hide his identity. The man invested in the printing exercise. May Allah reward him abundantly. The main objective of the exercise book distribution is to reach out to the most deserving pupils in public schools that cannot afford to buy exercise books in the course of learning. The orphans and indigents we currently enrolled in the various selected private schools will also benefit in the distribution exercise. 1.5 PROPOSAL FOR SEMINAR, WORKSHOP, ROUND TABLE DISCUSION TO BRAINSTORM ON HISTORY, PROPLEMS AND PROSPECT OF JOS COMMUNITY The proposal to organize a seminar or workshop or even roundtable discussion was brought by Barr Ahmed Garba and was approved by JICD leadership, a committee was set but unfortunately due to undisclosed circumstances and financial challenges it could not see the light of the day, therefore the leadership of JICD reserved the proposal on it data bank for another day. The proposal highlighted how the Amalgamation of Northern and Southern Protectorate of Nigeria that took place January 1914 as revealed by scholarly works over the years immensely contributed to the problem we are now facing as Jasawa community, ranging from a distorted cultural heritage historical background, indigene and settlers dichotomy, politics, socio-economical development and religion due to the aftermath of colonial administrators occupation in Nigeria. The struggle of Jasawa is now more than fifty years, therefore there is need to strategies our approaches and reflect on the success or otherwise of our methodologies and also to package our basic problems in a very coherent manner to convince other Nigerian citizens to see sense in the way we handle our affairs and make recommendations. There is no doubt or a making a mistake to say that for now our history of Jos community is shapeless, convoluted and amoebic; with dizzying array of un- reconciled facts that needs serious panel beating from a mixture of correct and not pseudo-experts from various disciplines within and outside Jos. There many experts among the Jasawas in the Academia, that can address these issues and give it a professional touch. People are also needed outside the academia but have done some scholarly original work on our history that have real experience in scholarly research to articulate on our issues. A call therefore to be made on all members of the various fora, including all Jasawa from Academia and other experts with scholarly orientation to contribute on the issue. 1.6 HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT OF HAIR STYLES AND BEAUTY (SALOON BUSINESS) FOR AUNTY MUMMY THE MIANGO WIDOW A call was made to the general public by Khayry Iliyasu on this woman called Aunty Mummy who was a pregnant at that time, now a mother of little Umar and requested people to come to her aid, because she lost her husband, faced with challenges and was ejected in her house. Aunty mummy lives at Rafin Pa, behind Kwanan Shagari, Jos North, Plateau State, based on the testimonies of her neigbours she is a good woman with a reputable character, fortunately her good accomodating neigbour gave her shelter pending the time she secured a good husband. What a nice gesture from good neigbours.upon enquiry she said i prepare to be a complete house wife, and she hoped for a prospective suitor.
