THE FLOWER You opened up your soul to me, showing your heart and velvet surround, tiny winged petals glistening in the dew, drifting on the breeze your sweet perfume. Lifting up spirits as we are of the same heart, a dance of the summer before it departs, enticing happiness and a peace of mind. Unruffled by gloomy surroundings as you bloom, and making it worth living as I focused on you, while trapped in one place where I am free, to chase the dragonflies as they depart, and the birds and the bees that are in awe, as they touch the beauty of your face with grace, attracted by the bright colours of your face, the vibrant flames of blossom and warm, like pollen permanently give a mark, before I have to carry on whilst you have to stay, to brighten up somebody elses day. by sue Bennetton,
