THE GIRL WHO LOVES BANJOS . . . Great night last night, Ratty - TopicsExpress

THE GIRL WHO LOVES BANJOS . . . Great night last night, Ratty and Mole sat in with Trevor Jones, Washboard Dave and friends and Mole excelled herself on fitting in on her banjo, she is so dedicated to her instrument, after six this morning playing Handsome Molly and the Clinch Mountain Backstep again, it is great when you have good musicians encouraging her to play and get better with them and they did some songs that they changed to the key of G or D for Mole which made her beam even more. To play with Washboard Dave is always a delight and can go on our cvs. Washy was saying last night that there is a website about Hampshire bands and history somewhere and Washy is on it playing in a sixties band called the Comancheros who supported the Rolling Stones one night in Winchester. Blimey I expect these days Mick Jagger is eating canapes and sipping Beaujolais whilst Washy is happy as a pig in the proverbial sitting in old country pubs drinking beer and lighting up the room. Being a wag Trevor asked What key are you playing this in Washy? and to begin another weekend of fine music we will be in Winchester tonight with Dee and Eric to hear what them rollicking Coal Porters led by that mandolin picking good time fellah Sid Griffin. Hopefully Sid will have his Gene Clark biography on the merchandising copy because with Gene in the car most days singing his soul out on No Other Id love to read Sids take on things . . . as Mole would say laters youtube/watch?v=l5OhXVlAfrg
