THE GOD WHO WHISPERS The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD,for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD,but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave-1 Kings 19:11-13...Notice God spoke to Elijah inside the cave first, all the crazy things happened while Elijah was still in the cave and yet...God was more interested in Elijahs intimacy with Him than Him seeing His signs and wonders...Tells me we have an intimate God who longs to be close and share His heart and be known by His heart more than what His hands can produce...God was whispering because God was close...God is whispering to you...draw close. It all flows from the secret place of intimacy with Him. David learned that in the desert, watching sheep, and then in a cave. Moses learned it in the desert, Joseph learned it in the desert, tending sheep, in a pit, and in prison. Wherever you find yourself this morning. Know that God is near, whispering, draw near with Him in the secret place. Thats where He shares the deep things of His heart. Intimacy flows from the secret place with Him... And everything else flows from there. Yes, God longs to show you His glory; but I think above that He wants you to know His heart...Come closer....God wants to whisper to you!!!!
