THE HIDDEN MINISTRY Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. (Colossians 4:12) Much of a Pastors ministry is what I call a hidden work. Far from the observation of any watchful eye (except from Gods of course), a faithful shepherd is called to be faithful to his hidden ministry first. Its in the hidden place, where intercession in prayer is made for the flock, as well as for the sheep, individually (a shepherd knows his sheep by name). Ever found seeking Gods heart and direction and bringing the burdens, trouble and needs of the people before God keeps a faithful man or woman of God committed to their hidden ministry. And its in the hidden place where much time is to be spent in the prayerful study of Gods Holy Word. Although few, if any (with the exception of a spouse) might ever recognize or fully appreciate just how much hidden ministry that a true shepherd engages in, what they serve in their public ministry will tell all!
