**** THE IMPORTANCE OF BRANDING **** This is for the business owners out there, especially those that do work under contract: Ppl could learn a lot about BRANDING from Michael Jordan. Although he was loyal to ONE sneaker company (Nike), he made sure his product didnt carry their swish logo. Everybody recognizes Jordans by the jump man logo. Jordan didnt go into business to make Nike more money. He went into business to make HIMSELF money... LOTS OF IT! I promise you he wouldnt be making $80 million a year now if he put that Nike swish logo on his sneaker. The Air Jordan brand is designed, owned, & produced by Michael Jordan for Nike. Not the other way around. Nike knows their role. Jordan can take his brand and move around if they forget it.
