THE LOOTING OF THE STATE TREASURY BY THE ARGENTINE GOVERNMENT AND THE ELITE Margarita Stolbizer, National Deputy (GEN) No doubt the government will transit its last year cornered by a (national and international) justice system that is beginning to awaken against the looting perpetrated for nearly a dozen years. It would be expected that there would also be a social backlash from knowing that “never again for corruption” is a wholesale decision to investigate political and business sector responsibilities, not repetition, and recovery at least of some of what they have taken. Therefore it is very important to shed light on the case called “the money trail” associated with Lazaro Baez and those who favored the unjustifiable and outrageous enrichment of the businessman-friend. Evidence abounds about the wrongfulness of that mountain of money they took out of the country in various ways without controls. The ineffectiveness and complicity of Customs and the AFIP in these ways may be able to explain the unusual verbose eruption of their leaders in recent days. There is no other explanation for the preferential treatment for the awarding of public works – whose cost at this point is immeasurable – paid with overcharging.
