THE LUKEWARM CHURCH - PART 16 * LUKEWARM ABOUT SERVICE (CONTINUATION). John 15vs5: "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." The above Scripture (John 15vs5) makes it clear that since Jesus Christ is the vine and we are dependent branches, we need Him. Jesus Christ says "APART FROM ME, YOU CAN DO NOTHING." Our Lord Jesus Christ will give us all of the resources and strength that we need to be able to do the works which He has prepared for us to do. 2 Peter 1vs3: "As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue." Ephesians 2vs10: "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." But we must yield to God, surrendering our will and desires to Him. Zechariah 4vs6b: "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts." Any mindset that retains self-sufficiency and not full reliance upon Christ will lead to dead works rather than genuine, Spirit-led, Spirit-filled, and Spirit-generated fruit. Dead works give glory to the worker, where as true fruit give glory to God. When we truly let Christ work in us, we will be amazed at what He can do in us and through us. 2 Timothy 2vs15: "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." .....TO BE CONTINUED.
