THE NEXT TIME YOURE HERE FOR A VISIT, BE SURE TO PARK IT ON THIS NEW PIECE OF ART AT BARTRAMS GARDEN! Boston-based artist Mitch Ryerson recently installed this column-bench by the Eastwick Pavillion as part of a larger Bartram collaboration with the The Center for Art in Wood, in which re-purposed wood from the garden has found creative new forms. In his artists statement, Ryerson said, The way the house, one that Bartram built with his own hands, feels so connected to the landscape made a strong impression on me. I wanted to somehow make a piece that honored this and that used some of the wood in a relatively natural state.
