THE OLD CROSS-AT CALVARY On the Hill, on that Hill: Stands the Cross-, the old Cross-, the beaten Cross-with blood on it. The Cross-at Calvary on top of the mountains called Skull, The wooden Cross-that Jesus carried. “Oh take me to the Cross!” Take me to him! Look, it is empty! Where is the Lord? I cried out. It is empty, and I will see him no more. I will miss looking into his clear eyes, his blessing, and the Peace that only he could give. His words, the love: it is gone! Where is my Lord? Where did he go? My hearts aches with pain, I am at the edge of panic, and tears. Oh the sadness I cannot bear. A voice came “Are you still looking for me? For I am not lost, nor hiding. I am in Church; I am there for people who cry out to me. I am in the Bible, in my sons, and daughters who carry my message. I am in the poor, and the humble, in the Hospitals, in the Jails For if, you have helped any of those you have help, and found me. Stop thinking about yourself. Learn about me. For I am the living light that lights up the whole world. Look for me in your heart: invite me in each morning. Love me with all your heart, and mind for which Cross-can hold me? What church is big enough for me? But I can fit in your heart, and in your life. I am the Alpha and the Omega says the Lord God seek, and you shall find: knock, and I will answer; Open the door, and you will have dinner with me” I am JESUS By Rev. Manuel Chacon given to in 2001.
