THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THEN THE SWORD A MESFFFROM THE DESK OF DR. HAROLD DEWBERRY FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, Message from 10/27/13 Over the last few Sundays my message has been majoring on the importance of brotherly love between the members in the church, the family of God, the Body of Christ. Today I want to share the Biblical principles that are the foundation of achieving this goal. It must start with our personal relation with the Lord Jesus Christ. Theologians call the beginning of sin that has caused every human being conceived by man the ORIGINAL SIN. This refers to Adam the first created son of God. [Luke 3:38] Which was the son of Seth who was the son of Adam which was the son of God? Please don’t let this confuse you. Adam was created out of the earth. {Genesis 2: 7]And the Lord God formed man of the ground------ The Lord Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit [ Matthew 1: 18 ] Now the birth of Jesus Christ was of this wise—Mary was espoused to Joseph , before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. [verse21] And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS; for He shall save His people from their sins. Adam is called the federal head of the human race. He also was also the seminal head. The word seminal (seed) implies that everyone existed in seed form within Adam. F The Apostle Paul relates this concept in [Romans 5:12] wherefore. As by one man entered into the world and death by sin, so death passed upon all men; for all have sinned. It is sin that separates mankind from God. Our Heavenly Father sent His Son into the world That we who accept or receive Him; is given the power to become the son’s of God [ John 3: 16 ] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [John 1:12] But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the son’s of God, even to them that believe on His Name. THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION. This then is one of the foundational truths in scripture. [Romans 5:10] We are reconciled to God by the death of His Son. Reconciliation is the process by which God and man are bought together again the scripture teaches that God and man are alienated from each other, because of God’s holiness and man’s sinfulness. Through the sacrifice of Christ man’s sin is atoned for, and the wrath of God appeased. Thus a relationship of hostility and alienation is changed into one of PEACE and INTIMACY. The Greek word for reconciliation is [KATALLASSO] it means a change from one position to another. [2 Corinthians 5:18] And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself, By Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. [Verse 19]---not imputing their trespasses unto them. Reconciliation changing the judicial status of one being under CONDEMNATION to that of JUSTIFICATION [Romans 5:10 ] For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled we shall be saved by His life. By the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the believer is changed and now can go through RESORATION. The word restore in the Hebrew is [ SHOOB ]it means to RESCUE, RECOVER, RETRIEVE, TO BRING BACK HOME ANAIN, or CAUSE TO MAKE, TO RETURN. In the Old Testament the Lord is our Kinsman Redeemer. We are in an intimate relationship with Him. Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit joint-heirs with Him. [Romans 8: 17] In our next study we will, God willing, share the principles set out how to restore those who are still struggling with unresolved issues in their personal lives.
