THE PLATEAU YOUTHS : A Description of Fools and Tools ? I am not privileged to ascertain the total number of youths on the Plateau except if obliged the information but l am very conscious of the fact that the past years under this government of Jang, the Plateau youths have been relegated to the back seats in virtually all sectors of self- actualization but are excepted to roam the streets of Jos and glance at fly-over bridge and roads and sing songs of appreciation which has now turned glorification. I stand to be corrected, that never in the history of our as a state that youths have been starved of employment and nonpayment of their wages, while Kono state government which most of us here on the Plateau call “ a Boko Haram state “ has established more than 15 new higher institutions with lots of over-sees scholarship, Youths on the Plateau celebrate the state government’s purchase of keke NAPE and cabs on loan for her own youths most of whom are graduates. It is factual that while the youths of other states like Kano develop in human capital as assets the Plateau youth is best a cab driver. We should not delude ourselves with ASTCs in Vom , Kassa or wherever, let it be known that a huge percentage of the youths in this establishment are not under the employment rolls of the Plateau state government but are students on the mandatory on year Industrial Attachment Programme ( SWIES ) from various institutions under the ITF scheme. To continue with the same ,either in continuity and or redemption which is clearly an imposition with the powers of incumbency Jang is in all intent and purpose out-rightly describing the youths who failed to read the hand-writing on the wall that Jang has classified them as fools and tools for his and family interest.
