THE PRICE OF SLAVERY I woke up this morning, and my grey cells - TopicsExpress

THE PRICE OF SLAVERY I woke up this morning, and my grey cells begun twitching as I through: what a beautiful place Cyprus is…what a blessed nation this is… and, where did it go so badly wrong? Visiting the city-center a different picture emerged: shops were shut and covered with dust, unemployed people walked like zombies deep in their own thoughts and hardly smiled and as for the elderly, they gathered in local coffee-shops (kafenia), nodding their heads in despair. The young were no-where to be seen and probably still lying in bed without a purpose or a reason to wake up to. Men and women felt dejected and betrayed, by a self-serving corrupt system, petty political parties and bad government that only cares for its own. Then a sliver of hope was announced that our leaders have convinced our EU “friends” and bankers to give this beautiful island a helping hand. In their exuberance they left out a small detail: they ignored to tell us that the price for this “helping hand” was to suck the last drop of our blood and force us pay for our own slavery…
