THE TRUTH THAT WE MUST FACE Good afternoon my dear football lovers. I hope you are all recovered from the reflecting on your teams result. Today, CSA (Cricket South Africa) has appointed the former Protea capt G.Smith the director of programmes and brand ambassador of T20 (congratulations) This should be another eye opener to our footballers. Education is key. Any kind of education (workshops, schooling, training, ...) anything to validate their lives and abilities. The problem is, our footballers have been told that playing football is a career! It is not. Football is a job. You can only play football for (max) 13 yrs which equal to +-35/37. What NEXT? After hanging their boots, our football players (the majority) go back to the game as assistance coaches by pity or fight poverty or we lose them to the game forever. Why? Because there is no value to their brands beside being a footballer. They dont equip themselves with any knowledge while playing and many dont even have a basic matric certificate. SHARKS has a new president, former player. Standard Bank used Jonty Rhodes, former player as their sport sponsorship manager. What about ourfootballers,? Lucas Radebe? As what? The truth is, footballers dont give value to their brands hence they are not valuable to anybody to use. Even PSL cant use them to help, nor SAFA, SAB, MTN, ... Who should we blame tomorrow? It just happened, most footballers are black, my race, my people, my kind.
