THIS IS A VERY REAL & TRUE STORY. I KNOW BECAUSE IVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING THEM: When one works with the elderly, its just a matter of time till you lose them to God. I worked 12 years at Madisonville Pharmacy before my 20 year police career. I would always check the obits to see if any of my elderly or sick friends had passed. There have been many I got to know personally. THIS ONE IS THE WORST: Ive been delivery to an elderly couple just recently & I spent time sitting & talking with them while they wrote out the check, & he recognized me when Rocky & I had our picture on the front page announcing our retire my more than 3 years ago. I would always sit for a short while while we talked about our past. I will not mention any names out of respect. The Gentleman of the house took a spill & hit his head less than a month ago. They did test to check him out & they discovered a cancerous tumor on his brain. They sent him home with only a short time to live. I told him Id be praying for him & he said hurry, times running out. The last time I was there, I took his hand and said a short prayer. Late last week I delivered a RX to their house. She & I sat at her kitchen table talking about her long time husband whom was going to die soon. I told her I was still praying for him everyday & I was praying for her comfort at this difficult time. She said she was convinced he was ready to go. She gave me the check & I walked out to my vehicle. I sat in their driveway & prayed for Gods touch on Him. He was at home with his loving bride knowing he would be leaving her soon. A couple nights ago she got out of bed & didnt return. He got worried & found her passed out. She had a massive stroke & passed away today. Now instead of leaving her behind, he is now looking forward to join her in Paradise. Sometimes God gives us a heads up on joining him soon & other times no warning at all. Dont lay down to sleep without talking to God & always start your morning by talking with God. You never know if youll have a warning or you just go unexpectedly. What if tomorrow you awoke & only had the things you thanked God for when you went to bed. Thank Him for EVERYTHING because its all His anyway. Just one of the hazards about caring for some one. Rest in Jesus arms for He loves you both so very much. All Glory a To God.
