THIS WEEK!!! Venezuelan Embassy is hosting the visit of Luis Britto Garcia in October 2014. There will be a series of events as below: 1. Film screening of “Zamora, Land and the Free Men” (2009). Written by Luis Britto Garcia. It’s an historic film tells of the story of the Venezuelan soldier and politician Ezequiel Zamora who fought to erase the gap between the opulence of the rich and the misery of the poor. Date: Wednesday 15th October, 6 pm to 9:00 pm Venue: Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Malaysia. 2. Seminar: Bolívar and the Latin American Integration and ALBA Exhibition The second edition of the Simon Bolivar Seminar Series will bring Professor Luis Britto García to offer a discourse on Bolívar and the Union in Latin America as the root for the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) Date: Thursday 16th October, 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm Venue: UKM, Bangi 3. Forum: Conspiracy and Mass Media Date: Saturday 18th October, 9:00 pm to 12:00 m Venue: International Movement for a Just World, JKR, 1258, Jalan Telok Off Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Luis Britto Garcia is narrator, essayist, playwright, artist and doctor in law and Professor of the Central University of Venezuela who has won numerous Awards in the field of Literature. With his vast experience and as a member of the State Council, he has vast knowledge to share about literature and integration which essential in the world we live in today. His position as a Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Central University of Venezuela since 1988 will bring interesting insight about literature and integration in the Venezuelan perspective, over the years, even before the Chavez era. He was also conferred the National Prize for Literature of Venezuela in 2001 and in 2010 awarded the Alba Cultural Award in Letters; both for his extensive work.
